Fayette State Park, Mi
Fayette State Park is located on Lake Michigan, on Big Bay de Noc, on the Upper Penninsula or Michigan. It's primary purpose is as a feeder campground for the Historic Fayette Village just north of the campground. The Ghosttown of Fayette Village was an iron ore smelting operation during the industrial revolution, and you can still see the artifacts of the village when you visit.
If you are visiting Historic Fayette Village, the campground is a good place to stay. However, it is a small campground, with no shower and restroom facilities. If you don't have those amenities in your RV, then you will be using an outhouse. For that reason, this campground is suitable for most folks as a stay-over during their visit to the village. There is a beach, but it is quite distant from the campground, and either a bicycle or car ride will be necessary to access the beach for most folks. The location is fairly remote, so make sure you gas up and buy whatever groceries you need in either Escanaba, Manistique, or St. Ignace.
This may be the smallest "modern" (meaning it has electricity) state park campground in Michigan. There are 61 campsites at the park, but even then, obtaining a spot is not usually a problem. And at $19 per night, it is an inexpensive stay-over.
