Otsego Lake State Park, Gaylord, Mi
Otsego Lake State Park
Otsego Lake State Park is located just south of Gaylord in NorthCentral Lower Michigan. It is just off I-75 which makes it easy to get there.
It is a nice but small park, with a nice beach. Unfortunately, there are hardly any level sites. There are many almost level, and many fairly unlevel sites - so you will most likely need some blocking under your jacks to attain a level RV. Otherwise, it is a very nice park.
The beach itself is a day-use beach, so you will be sharing it with the general public. Still, the beach is quite nice, and I am told the fishing is good as well.
A short trip to Gaylord - the Alpine capital of Michigan is worthwhile, with all of the modern stores, and yet the charm of an Alpine-like village.
If you are an outdoors type of person - and you would not be camping if you were not - then a trip to Jay's Sporting Goods on South Otsego Ave is a must. And while you are there, stop into the "Cops and Doughnuts" shop attached to Jays.
