Wells State Park is located on Lake Michigan, on the northern tip of Green Bay, between Escanaba, Mi to the north, and Menominee, Mi/Marinette, Ws. to the south.

The adage, you can't get there from here, might apply to Wells State Park, as it is in a rather remote area of Michigan, actually near the Wisconsin border. The site was originally a CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) site (Camp Wells) during the depression recovery of the 1930s, and you can still find stone buildings and monolith structures on site.

There is a day area with a beach about 1/4mi from the campground itself.

If lucky, you can obtain a campsite with a Lake Michigan view. The park is not heavily used, so the sites are still nice and grassy.

Currently, there are 150 campsites at the park, with a few cabins for rent. There are really no major activities in the area, so relaxing and taking in nature is the theme for this park.
