Young State Park
Young State Park is located on the Eastern shore of Lake Charevoix, just north of Boyne City, Mi.
The general area of the campground is quite nice. On the shore of Lake Charlevoix, you get everything the lake has to offer; boatig, fishing, and even access to Lake Michigan. However, Lake Charlevoix is a good size lake, so it favors larger, more capable boats. The campsite we were on is one of the few pull-through sites, so most are back-in only. There are actually 3 campgrounds in the park, with a few sites on un-even land, so check the reservation system to ensure you get a good spot. Due to the location of Lake Charlevoix, Westerly winds can whip up the waves along the lake - which can cause rough boating conditions.
There is a swimming beach centrally located in the park that is quite nice.
