Assuming everything is working, we can now wire the receiver to the RV. The two awning channels incorporate the existing Awning Switch so that either switch or motor can be used interactively. In the event the motor switch is depressed in the opposite direction at the same time the wireless remote commands the motor to move, the motor will stop - and no short will occur. This logic is the same as described in the first generation Awning Control System. In fact, this project essentially adds a receiver to the relay board in that project.
Note that the power for the awning motor is separate from the receiver power. The two power sources can be paralleled if necessary or be on different circuits. The advantage of using different circuits is the receiver power can be turned off in a boondocking situation, but power can remain applied to the switch so the awning can still be operated via control panel. There is around 10mA of residual load on the receiver when power is on but inactive, while there is zero load on the motor/switch circuit when inactive. Again, 10mA is not significant in and of itself, but when added to other "parasitic" loads, it can add up. Channel 3 and 4 were intended to power two of my Super Dimmers, but any device that can use a high-side switch can be powered. Remember though that unless you make changes to the sketch, this is a momentary output. As well, the TOTAL power that can be supplied by the board is 1Amp, minus each relay (20mA each) and the NANO power (60mA). The motor power is not included since it is powered independantly. Therefore the power available at Channel 3 and 4 is 1A, minus 60mA, and minus how many relays are on at the same time. Also, Chanel 3 and 4 share the 1A capability. So in the worst case scenario, the output of Channel 3 or 4 will be:
Since the outputs were intended for the Super Dimmer, and the load presented by the Super Dimmer is around 20mA each, there is more than plenty of power for these devices. If connecting other devices, determine what kind of loads you are needing to power.

Future EnhancementsIn the works as this is being written is an expansion board that will sit on top of the NANO, and provide up to 4 additional channels which are regarded as "Open Collector". An expansion board will also be available which will provide 4 relay "dry-contacts" for other uses. The expansion board will also have it's own microcontroller so it will be able to provide a latching function if necessary. Look for this project in the coming months.
